We are proud to present our EPS Irish Concertina sample library. Once more, Jan Pfitzer and Edu Prado got together to bring this iconic traditional Irish instrument, the Concertina, to life and turn it into an exclusive sample library.
The soul of Ireland at your fingertips.
This beautiful Irish Concertina is meticulously sampled with an AEA R44C ribbon microphone, preserving its natural, organic feel and lush expression. It is also recorded through an analogue Cassette tape, giving it a warm, saturated tone with subtle compression and a vintage charm, which complements the Concertina sound perfectly.

The EPS Irish Concertina comes with 11 instruments (NKIs), providing endless sonic possibilities.
The 3 main NKIs are: Natural – with raw organic sounds, Cassette – recorded with analogue cassette tape for warm saturated tone and lo-fi feel, and Amped – sampled through a Fender amp to add grit, character and depth.
The other NKIs are cinematic creations carefully crafted from the original Concertina samples, giving this sample library new dimensions where you can explore your creativity.

Real air-pump samples:
To give the Irish Concertina even more realism, these first three NKIs also include an exclusive set of 12 air-pump samples. The air sound form the Concertina bring character and a realistic feel to the instrument, and it's also used to create some of the cinematic NKIs, such as the Breath nki.
The Concertina air sound samples are located at the lowest octave (-2) on the keyboard, on the 3 first NKIs: Natural, Cassette, and Amped – as shown on the screenshot below:
Included Instruments (NKIs):
- 01 - Natural: Beautiful raw organic Concertina samples. Includes air pump samples on the lower octave (-2).
- 02 - Cassette: Natural Concertina samples recorded through analogue Cassette tape, adding warm harmonic character and vintage charm. Includes air pump samples on the lower octave (-2).
- 03 - Amped: Natural Concertina samples recorded through Fender Amp adding grit, distortion and depth, for heavier impact sounds. Includes air pump samples on the lower octave (-2).
- 04 - Bells Pad: Dreamy bell-like pad created from the Concertina's samples, for beautiful shimmery atmospheres.
- 05 - Breath: Subtle airy pad created only from the Concertina's air pump samples, a whispery sound with a unique character, perfect for gentle or haunting layers and atmospheres.
- 06 - SciFi Scape: Otherworldly pad, with distinctive overtones and harmonic content from the Concertina. Built with SciFi scapes in mind, playing with the ADSR envelope and the step sequencer allows endless possibilities.
- 07 - Metallic Scape: Rich and thick pad with a metallic overtone feel without being harsh, preserving organic movement.
- 08 - Airy Pad: Airy pad exploring higher overtones, dreamy and ethereal vibes, perfect for emotive layers and swells.
- 09 - Massive Pad: Rich, thick and massive, exploring a new dimension of the distorted Amped Concertina samples. Provides a punchy modern sound without compromising the organic character and movement of the Concertina.
- 10 - Wind Distortion: Another take on the distorted Amped Concertina sounds, now bringing out more of the reed character of the instrument, round and deep.
- 11 - Deep Bass: Making the most of the velvety low-end from the Concertina, the Deep Bass patch provides a tasty, rich and yet clean bass sound, with great versatility when combined with the built-in tools.

How to load the Snapshots:
Inside the "EPS Irish Concertina" download folder, you will find a folder called "Snapshots" containing all the snapshots for each NKI.
You can manually drag and drop the snapshot files directly on top of an opened Irish Concertina NKI on Kontak.
To load all the snapshots and see them under the snapshot drop-down menu on Kontakt (as shown in the screenshot below), you need to manually copy all the NKI folders into the Kontakt "User Content" folder in your operating system.
Kontakt snapshots are typically located in the User Content folder within your Native Instruments directory.
On Mac OS X, this is usually found at: Macintosh HD/Users/<User Name>/Documents/Native Instruments/User Content/Kontakt.
On Windows, it's typically located at: C:/Users/<User Name>/My Documents/Native Instruments/User Content/Kontakt
